Want to see another story with these characters. Lets see some more of the ever after. Fun story with steam.
He's a nobleman. A knight rewarded by the King for loyal service, and given...a crumbling castle surrounded by starving, superstitious commoners who've decided he's the man of honor who can restore them to good fortune.
She's an uncommon commoner. A very uncommon woman. A thief who's taken to raiding the stores from other nearby keeps in order to prevent her people from starving.
She's not sure Marcus is the man for the job of restoring them.
But when events send them together on a quest for the Cross of Souls, a religious relic her people cherish, a relic they believe, in conjunction with their new nobleman, will restore them and their lands to prosperity, she certainly can't refuse.
Nor can she refuse his advances, despite battling the pull of attraction she feels for him. She's doesn't want to be his mistress, yet knows she can be nothing more to him in the long run.
Who says there's no honor among thieves?
Especially...His Lady Thief.
An excellent medieval romance, second in a series, though reading the first ( Knight of the Mist) is not an absolute prerequisite for enjoying this one.
